26 April 2010Hagerstown to be named a Safe Community
Community Rescue Service is extremely proud to announce that after months of preparation, partnerships and a final international evaluation from Safe Communities, Hagerstown is being recommended to Safe Communities International for approval as a designated Safe Community. There are currently only 8 communities within the United States (26 internationally) that have been able to obtain this designation at this time. Hagerstown will be the first community in Maryland to receive this designation. Congratulations to all partner agencies for this great accomplishment! The designation as a Safe Community will open doors to grant funding opportunities that previously were not reachable.
The Safe Community designation will be made official be the World Health Organization and an official signing of the City's designation will done at a ceremony later this summer. Check back to www.crs75.org for more details.
